The drills and taps in the Somta Color Band Application line have been specifically created to enhance your machining capabilities. With this selection of Color Band Cutting Tools, the demands for increased productivity from expensive high-performance machine tools, the need for the cutting tools to operate at maximum efficiency to reduce machine downtime, along with the demands for improved quality of machined components, can all be satisfied. Each material group’s geometry has been deliberately created to enhance tool performance and finish quality.
The Colour Band Range consists of five “Colour Band Application” ranges of drill and tap combinations.
- Blue for stainless steel
- Red for tough treatable steel
- Yellow for aluminium
- White for cast iron
- Green for carbon steel
To achieve optimal tool performance for each material category, each range has been developed with various cutting geometries and surface treatments. Each group of material type has a unique drill and tap combination, with taps available in both spiral point and spiral flute to meet different application needs.
