Billing itself as “the ultimate meeting and marketplace for all stakeholders involved in mining, construction, industrial machine tool, and power generation industries,” the Electra Mining Expo is the only place to be seen if you work in any of the aforementioned industries. Having grown exponentially over the years, it is now the second largest mining show in the world, making it a prime opportunity for businesses to display themselves to both local and international investors. With 2014 bringing with it growth in the form of an incorporation with Elenex Africa (An African international electrical engineering and lighting and power generation exhibition), Transport Expo, as well as a Machine Tools Showcase, this year’s expo was bigger and better than ever.
Kiloton returned to Electra Mining once again, previous success with the investors and customers alike. The aim for this year’s exhibition was for Kiloton to let our visitors once again experience a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and as usual, Kiloton had one of the busiest stands at the event. This year’s main focus was to showcase the most recent and up to date technology on various tooling equipment, as well as giving visitors first-hand knowledge on the latest product offerings—in other words, a real Kiloton experience!
With over one thousand local and international exhibitors in attendance and close to 35,000 visitors from South Africa, the rest of Africa, and other parts of the world, Kiloton was able to reach its largest audience ever. According to event organiser Gary Corin, MD of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, “The visitor experience at Electra Mining Africa is like no other trade show on the continent. We are active in two other African countries with the Electra Mining Africa brand, but the Johannesburg show remains the flagship event, and we have ensured that it embraces all five senses and boasts world-class outdoor and indoor exhibits.”
